Why attend this grant writing workshop?
You will learn to share in the billions of dollars in grant money awarded each year. With budgets tight and competition becoming more intense, this workshop can give your grant proposals the edge they need. Dr. Sliger understands the special needs of your organization. He has written many successful grant proposals in the fields of education, serving at-risk populations, research, faith-based programs, community programs, and civic projects.

Why learn from Dr. Sliger?

Dr. Sliger obtains 70% of the grants he proposes owing to his 25 years of experience. He also received the Excellence in Teaching Award, making him possibly the best grant writing trainer in the United States. His workshops provide a comprehensive overview of the grant writing process.

Who should attend?

Educators, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, and community agencies. Beginners to more experienced grant writers, including professionals. We start with the basics and proceed to advanced grant writing strategies and techniques (one-day and two-day workshops).

Why a two-day workshop?

The two-day workshop allows for a more comprehensive overview of the grant writing process. Participants will have more time to explore topics in-depth. In addition, participants will begin work on an actual grant proposal for their organization. This provides participants an opportunity to practice what they have learned under Dr. Sliger's expert guidance. Participants will leave the two-day session not only with a strong grant writing knowledge base but also with a draft grant proposal.

What is the cost?
The one-day workshop is $195 per participant.
The two-day workshop is $350 per participant. The registration fee includes all training materials.

Does ECS offer proposal development services?
Absolutely! ECS specializes in developing federal grant proposals (RFPs). See the "Program Evaluations" link.

What about webinars?
Many individuals may not be able to attend one of Dr. Sliger's grant training sessions in person. The technology now exists for you to attend a live online grant training webinar from your home or office. It is almost like being there in person. See the "Grant Writing Webinars" link.

Does ECS offer program evaluation services?
In addition to grant training and proposal development, ECS also provides summative and formative program- evaluation services. Specifically, we can help you (1) plan and write the evaluation section of the proposal, (2) identify or develop instruments to measure impacts, (3) and collect, analyze, interpret, and report the evaluation results. See the "Program Evaluations" link.

How can I host a workshop?
Hosting a two-day grant writing workshop with ECS is easy. Your organization only needs to do four things to host a workshop:

  • Provide a classroom/auditorium suitable for the number of participants attending the workshop (internet access required).
  • Provide a screen and a flip chart.
  • Work with ECS to obtain the minimum number of workshop participants.
  • Provide refreshments each morning.

When you host a grant writing workshop, ECS will invite your staff (up to six people; you may sell unused seats as a fundraiser) to attend the workshop at no cost.

Registrations are handled by ECS.

What about scheduling?
Since Dr. Sliger conducts all the sessions personally, it is important to book your workshop as soon as possible. Contact ECS to check availability.

Will I receive anything for attending a workshop?
In addition to excellent training, you will receive a grant writing certificate and follow-up interaction with Dr. Sliger. Most participants maintain an ongoing connection with ECS for years.

Does ECS conduct grant writing training for a single individual?
Yes, contact ECS for information.
